At the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids, our goal is to help individuals and households overcome financial barriers to ensure membership and programming access for all.

Regardless of your financial situation, the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids will work as your partner. If the full cost of a Y membership creates a financial barrier, you may apply for Financial Assistance. All Y members receive the same membership benefits, regardless of the support needed. All financial information remains confidential.
Please use the form on this page and the steps below to easily guide you through the process.
- Fill out the form on this page and Click “Submit Details”.
- Once you submit, you will receive an immediate response with the results from the instant check.
- If you are confirmed for Financial Assistance through the instant check process, continue to the “Instant Check Confirmed” menu.
- If there is NOT enough information to instantly confirm, continue to “Additional Information Needed” menu so our team can work closely with you to assess financial assistance pathways via our standard process.
If you have been instantly confirmed for Financial Assistance, visit your local branch and present your confirmation. Our team can add it to your existing account or get you signed up that same day.
Current Member: Our Business Services team will review your submission within five business days and update your account.
New Members: Sign up as a member at your local branch and present your Financial Assistance confirmation to staff who will apply details to your account. You can also sign up online and either contact us by phone or present the confirmation on your first visit to a branch.
Program Discount for Non-Members:If you are not currently a member but would like to use Financial Assistance for YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids programs, please call us during regular business hours and we will be happy to help.
If we are unable to instantly confirm you, or if you are seeking assistance with Child Care and/or Day Camp, don't worry! You can use our standard process by click here and uploading a copy of your last year’s tax return and one of the following:
- One Disability or Social Security check stub
- Two current pay stubs
